The Bottom Line

All around this is one of the best gas grills on the market for it's price. Take care of it and a Weber Gas Grill will last you for a decade and give you the versatility you want to grill most anything you can think of. The high quality parts, particularly the stainless steel burners will need an occasional cleaning, but will last you long enough to pass it on to your kids. People who own Weber grills swear by them and always buy Weber. This unit is also large enough to suit almost any need.

Guide Review - Weber Genesis S-320 Gas Grill

This model has been discontinued. It is replaced by the Weber Genesis S-330.

Weber builds grills that are among the most recommended in the world. Their wide availability make them very popular as does their consistently high quality of manufacturing. This Weber grill is an attractive unit of stainless steel and painted black. The lid is a heavy dual layer stainless steel piece with a cast aluminum fire box. The frame is welded steel and very strong. Welded steel is much better than the riveted or bolt frames on many lower quality grills.

Apart from the looks, the Weber burner system provides good heat distribution that eliminates hot and cold spots. The three burner configuration gives you the ability to grill indirectly or to have a hot sear zone while having a cooler grilling area. Control on this grill is very good because of its highly adjustable valves.

The Genesis S-320 offers 42,000 BTUs from its three burners under a primary cooking area of 507 square inches. While this is a little low for a grill of this size the efficient design generates more heat with less fuel than many other grills. This unit should reach maximum temperature in less than 10 minutes and can easily sear. This unit also comes with a 12,000 BTU side burner.

The biggest gripe with this grill is the almost complete lack of work space. With the control valves consuming most of the right side table this leaves you with only the left side to work with. There's just enough space to put down a normal sized plate and nothing else. Flip up tables (like older models) would certainly be nice.

While you pay for the Weber name, they are the only company that will give you 24/7 support 364 days a years. They also have a great reputation for service. This grill is also available in natural gas.

Don't need the side burner? Try the Weber Genesis S-310. Need more space? Try the 4-burner Weber Summit E-420

Weber s320 Liquified Firebox, Member DianneHH

Before we purchased the Weber s320 in August 2008 at Home Depot, we had a Broil King which lasted 15yrs. without any major issues. My father is a professional welder, and upon taking the BBQ out of the box, was rather concerned about how thin the cast iron firebox is. But what choice do you have in BBQ's these day's, most or all of them are not made the way they use to be. . . scrimp a little here, a little there, but charge the same or higher prices. Fast forward to October 2009 (BBQ is only 14 months old), turned the BBQ on as usual to heat it up, came out 10 minutes later to find the whole thing engulfed in flames! The bottom of the cast iron firebox had melt, dropping into the storage box below, causing everything to catch fire. It also dripped onto the deck and melted the trellis on the railing. We also called the fire department to make sure there where no unseen hot spots. The firemen comment that they had never seen anything like this before and that Weber would want to see this. The firebox liquefied!!! Called Onward, sent photos of the BBQ to them, they wanted to send parts, and didn't indicate if this would be free or there would be a charge. Told them that they needed to send all parts, as this BBQ was totally destroyed. The person just didn't understand how bad this was. Onward told me ""we do not replace whole BBQ's just parts."" This was all just from photos, they hadn't even sent anyone out to look at it until I pushed for it. Weeks later they finally send out a rep, the guy was dumbfounded by what he saw, and told us that he would recommend that Onward replace the BBQ. Another week goes by and I receive a call from Karen Cross (Manager of Customer Service). She told me the are willing to arrange with a local store to sell us a BBQ at a reduced rate, and that they want to make arrangements to pick up the BBQ to have their engineers look at it. I asked her if they would be giving us a replacement, she said no. So I told her that we will not be give them the BBQ without a replacement and would be consulting other venues.
