A Review of the Weber Spirit SP-310 Gas Grill

Weber Spirit SP-310
Weber-Stephen Products Company

The premium Weber Spirit SP-310 is a gas grill that offers a beautiful stainless steel hood and door along with stainless steel rod cooking grates. While this aesthetic looks shiny and new at first, it doesn't offer any real improvement to the grill for cooking purposes. However, the Spirit grill is solidly built, and has a lower-price in comparison to other gas grill lines from Weber, due to its lower quality stainless steel.

Those looking for a gas grill that offers a basic 3-burner grill, with standard Weber features like a propane gauge, will enjoy this model. Plus, this Weber gas grill provides Weber warranties and support if you run into any problems. The only disadvantages to this grill are that it has lower grades of stainless steel throughout its construction, and for the price, it's more on the simple side. This grill can be bought directly from Amazon.

A Weber Spirit SP-310 Gas Grill Review

This is the best version of the Weber Spirit Grill line offered. Spirit grills were designed by Weber to be a more affordable alternative to the Genesis Grills. To achieve this goal, Weber made the Spirit Grills smaller and produced them in China. While the Spirit Grills have many of the features of the Genesis versions, they are a very simplified grill. What makes this model premium is its stainless steel rod cooking grates, which are considered a real treat for many cooking enthusiasts. Depending on the cook's preference, this might not be seen as a huge improvement over the standard porcelain-coated cast-iron grates provided in other models.

This basic gas grill has three burners that produce 32,000 BTUs under 424 square inches. Luckily, Weber's efficient design allows this grill to heat up quickly and reach high temperatures—even if the power appears to be a little low. Additional features of this grill are all coated in stainless steel, which is a big deal because many of the other grills provided in the Spirit line have black enameled bodies.

Purchasing the Weber Spirit SP-310

Stainless steel is beautiful to look at it, even if it is a lower grade. However, you may have an issue with the Weber Spirit grill's pricing, depending on your preferences. For instance, you can get the Spirit E-320 for the same price, which gives you everything this grill has (minus the stainless steel) plus a 12,000 BTU side burner. If you want a Weber and can't afford the Genesis, it is recommended not to buy this grill. Instead, look at the Spirit E-320 or E-310 gas grill (which doesn't have a side burner).
