Will Smoking More Then One Turkey Affect the Cooking Time?

By , About.com Guide

Question: Will Smoking More Then One Turkey Affect the Cooking Time?
Answer: When smoking more than one turkey you need to make sure you have enough room for each bird to be bathed in smoke and have space to cook. As long as you can distance each turkey more than two inches apart the overall cooking time won't be affected. Make sure you watch the temperature when you load the smoker and adjust the heat accordingly. Placing a lot of cold meat in a smoker can significantly lower the temperature. To keep on schedule you will need to get the heat back up pretty quickly.
