This is a low cost offset smoker that has a number of great features. Built on the traditional smoker design, this unit can give you lots of great barbecue with real smoke from a real fire. While temperature control can be challenging with this smoker (and similar offsets) the authentic flavor and large capacity make up for the limitations. This unit is frequently sold without the firebox. Without the offset firebox you have a charcoal grill, not a smoker.

The Char-Griller Pro is a good offset smoker for a great price (typically around $220 with the "optional" firebox). The construction is good and while temperature control can be a little difficult, practice will get you smoking loads of meat from this large capacity smoker.With firebox attached this unit gives you a lot of great features including an adjustable coal grate and pull out ash tray for easy clean up. Remember that the fire box, necessary for good smoking, is an optional item in many stores. Search around and you should be able to find the whole unit on sale.
The Char-Griller Pro is a great charcoal grill as well. The large capacity and adjustable coal grate will give you the ability to grill up lots of food quickly with great flavor.
This unit (and similar Char-Griller products) are found in a variety of stores. If you want a good smoker but don't want to spend a lot track one of these units down.
