By , About.com Guide

Tradition suggests that the basis for Creole flavor is the three peppers, black, white and red. This spice blend mixes black pepper, white pepper and cayenne with herbs to make a great flavor.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Kosher salt (1/4 cup table salt)
  • 1/3 cup paprika
  • 1/3 cup black pepper (freshly ground is best)
  • 1/4 cup granulated garlic
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons white pepper
  • 3 tablespoons cayenne
  • 2 tablespoons dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients together. Store in an airtight container in a cool and dark place. Shake container before using because it can settle.
