Sea Scallops on Oak Plank

This is a perfect all year round dish that works well as an appetizer or a main course.

Prep Time: 12 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds large sea scallops
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • oak plank, 8 x 16-inches

Preparation:

Soak plank in water for at least an hour before using. Preheat grill for medium-low heat. Combine all ingredients except scallops, in a small bowl. Dip scallops in mixture and set on a separate dish. Place oak plank directly over fire for 5 minutes. Place plank on grill rack and add sea scallops. Allow to cook for 35-40 minutes. Remove from heat and serve.
