Chef Paul's Chikky Rub

This is a great all purpose rub with loaded with herbs, spices, and flavor.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: Makes about 3/4 cup

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sage, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Keep in a cool, dark place

Wonderful flavor, Member tmannn

This is a wonderful rub for chicken. It has a rich flavor. I love the touch that the lemon pepper adds. We like heat in our food so I add more chile. Cayenne is fine but extra hot New Mexico chile has more flavor. This is easy to find here in Albuquerque. I don't know its availability Nationally. As written in the recipe or doubling up the lemon pepper makes a wonderful rub for grilled fish.
