Kansas City Rib Rub

Regarding BBQ Inc.
In Kansas City they know BBQ ribs. This is the barbecue rub recipe for traditional Kansas City-Style Ribs. Finish these ribs off with a good barbecue sauce and you'll have a fantastic meal.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: Makes a little more than 1 cup

  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients together and transfer to an air tight container. Maybe stored up to six months.

I've used this for a while now, a few years actually. I think it is a match made in heaven for high quality beef ribs. I'm on good terms with a local butcher and he lets me know when he's got prime rib ribs on hand. Rub in the night before, slow cook and smoke for 6 or so hours the next day, and you will have nothing less than perfection. It's one of the only recipes I won't share even though my buds keep beggin for it. I think best on beef , but great on pork as well. Also, I love that you can make a bunch and use it several times. Just make sure you rub it in until it starts falling off. Thats the right amount You won't go wrong with this one... .
