Grilled Bread

By Derrick Riches, About.com Guide

The high, intense heat of your typical grill is a great way to toast bread. Keep a close eye out to make sure it doesn't burn. You'll get a lot more flavor out of this slice of bread than anything toasted.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices sourdough bread about 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne

Preparation:

Melt butter in saucepan. Add garlic and cook until garlic just barely starts to brown. Remove from heat and add spices. Mix well. Brush one side of each slice of bread and place on preheated grill. Grill until bread is golden brown. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
