Whole Meal Pikelets

This is a traditional grilled bread recipe from Australia.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups whole wheat self-raising flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup powdered milk
  • 2 tablespoons lecithin granules
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar

Preparation:

Combine sifted flour, powdered milk and lecithin granules together. Mix well. Add beaten egg and water and mix into a smooth batter. Lay a greased piece of foil over a direct fire. Add cider vinegar to batter and drop tablespoons of batter on to the foil. Cook until bubbly on top and light brown on the bottom. Turn and cook the other side. Repeat until all the batter is gone.
