Southwestern Beer Marinade

When selecting a beer for a marinade or sauce, choose a a high quality flavorful beer that you are familiar with. This recipe would work great with a rich, dark stout to give it a hint of bitter. It is also best if you let the beer go flat before you add it to the other ingredients.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups red wine
  • 1 can of beer
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • juice from 6 to 8 limes
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro,chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
