Texas Rib Marinade

The BBQ Guru sent in this marinade recipe loaded with flavor and tenderizing power.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Yield: Makes about 2 1/2 cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 medium lemon
  • 3 2-inch pieces of lemon peel
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar, dark
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Tabasco
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation:

Juice the orange and lemons. Simmer on low heat until sugar dissolves. DO NOT boil. Marinate ribs overnight.

I made this marinade, followed the recipe actually. My ribs were awful, the flavors do not compliment each over. The ribs were tender but had a very unpleasant overpowering citrus taste. I would advise you to not to bother with this recipe.
