Smoked Mutton Chops


Mutton can be tough and strong flavored. Slow smoking these mutton chops is the answer to a tender lamb chop with a great flavor.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours

Total Time: 2 hours, 10 minutes

Yield: Serves 4


  • 4 mutton chops
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard


Mix vinegars and soak chops for 30 minutes. Drain. Mix spices and sprinkle over both sides of chops. Place in smoker with hickory wood for about 2 hours.
