Guide Review - Sanyo Smokeless Indoor Electric Grill Model# HPS-SG3
Let me tell you straight away that this grill isn't going to give you a meal in 20 minutes. It will probably be hot enough to cook on in 20 minutes and then you might be another 20 minutes getting your food cooked. If I may digress for a second you might want to get a large disposable aluminum pan to use as a lid. Not so much for when you are grilling but because it will hold in the heat and help this grill preheat much faster. The simple truth of electric grills is that it takes a lot of power to do some serious grilling and no one wants or is equipped to buy a 220 volt grill. This grill does as well as any other and for a better price than most.
Labeled as smokeless, the trick is to pour water into the drip pan of this grill so that drippings don't smoke. Oil and food on the cooking surface will produce smoke, so I would say Smokes Less no smokeless. If you have a fan in the kitchen I would turn it on or try opening a window. So while this indoor grill will produce smoke it does produce less than many others.
Really all I can say is that while limited as all electric grills are, this one is a great balance between good grilling abilities and a decent price. I would suggest buying it online because you can get a better price than most stores unless you can catch it on sale.
