You can serve this burger on a pita or on a hamburger bun. If you decide on the pita, you might want to make oval patties so it fits the pita better.

Yield: Makes 4 1/4-pound burgers
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground lamb
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- For Yogurt Sauce:
- 8 ounces plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup finely minced cucumber
- 2 minced green onions
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
Preparation:
Combine lamb, garlic, powder, pepper, onion powder, cumin and salt. Divide into four equal parts and form into patties. Set aside. Preheat grill. Combine all ingredients for the yogurt sauce. Mix well, cover and refrigerate. Place patties on grill over high heat and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes per side or until juices run clear and there is no pink in the middle. Serve patties on pita bread or hard rolls with yogurt sauce.
