Why Am I Not Blue Burger

From Lee Custer, About.com Guest

Lee Custer sent in this great blue cheese burger recipe. Enjoy with your favorite condiments but I suggest keeping it light so you can taste these great Blue Cheese Burgers.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds ground round or sirloin
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 8 ounces blue stilton cheese, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic flakes
  • 1 tablespoon steak sauce

Preparation:

Mix the ground meats with the lemon pepper, garlic flakes and steak sauce. Form into 12 patties. On 6 of the patties place some of the blue Stilton cheese (divide the cheese evenly among the 6 burgers). Place the patties without the cheese, on top of those with the cheese and seal the edges well. Cook over a bed of hardwood coals (I also put sassafras smoke chips on the coals) until done, cook well due to the pork. Serve on rolls with spicy mustard, sliced dill pickle and onion.
