A Great Little Hamburger Recipe

A Great Little Hamburger Recipe

Regarding BBQ, Inc.
This is a basic but great hamburger with the bacon and onion right inside the patty. You can also add cheese to the filling or top it off with a nice slice.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Yield: Makes 4 1/2-pound burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground round
  • 1/2 cup cooked and minced bacon
  • 1/2 cup bar-b-que sauce (your favorite flavor)
  • 1 small minced onion or 2 tablespoons of dried minced onion
  • Any of your favorite toppings for hamburger

Preparation:

Mix ingredients together. Shape into patties and grill over prepared grill until done. Top with steak sauce such as A1 or Heinz or just plain ketchup and mustard will do. Served well with baked beans and steak fries.

I was looking for a new burger idea to break in my grill for the season and found this awesome recipe. Seemed very easy to make and I had all the ingredients in my fridge. I broiled the bacon in the oven, kept the drippings (let them cool off) and added that to the ground beef mix along with the crumbled bacon. I used Sweet Baby Ray's original BBQ sauce, and added a 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, and four shakes of the Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce. Then mixed all together. I made my four beef patties and put them aside. Then, I soaked a big bunch of apple wood chips for about half an hour. Meanwhile, I fired up my barrel smoker grill and let that get to about medium hot. Added half of the wood chips and put the burgers on. I put the cover on the grill with the flue closed. About 15 minutes later I checked them. They were ready to flip. I flipped and added the other half of the wood chips. I let that go for 10 minutes. I added a big round slice of provolone cheese to each burger, and put the lid back on. After 5 minutes, I took the lid off and they were done! They looked so saucy and perfect that I couldn't bring myself to put anything on them. Served them with dill spears on a regular old hamburger bun. FANTASTIC!! They didn't need a thing.
