Jan's Specialty Burgers

From Jan Joniell, About.com Guest

These are delicious onion and cheese stuffed burgers with a great beefy flavor. Top off with your favorite condiments and you will have a great meal.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds hamburger
  • 2 medium white onions
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic
  • bacon strips

Preparation:

Divide hamburger in half. Make thin patties about the size of a cup saucer. In the middle of each patty pile onion's and grated cheese. Put about two glops of Worcestershire sauce, light sprinkle of garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Take the remaining hamburger and again make thin patties about the size of a cup saucer. Put on top of the first one and pinch edges together. Wrap a strip of bacon around this. Sometimes it takes more than one strip. Lay aluminum foil on the grill to get them partially done. When they are a little bit firm so they will hold together well you can put them directly on the grill.
