Freedom Grill FG-100 Portable Grill

Freedom Grill

The Bottom Line

This is a trailer hitch mounted dual burner propane grill on a swing arm that not only lets you tote your grill pretty much anywhere but swings away from your vehicle far enough to open a tailgate or access your trunk. The Freedom Grill is built for tailgating but is a fantastic grill to take anywhere you can drive too. This grill has many unique features but I think the one that stands out for anyone out camping is the pass through collar hitch that lets you put the grill on hand still have your hitch for pulling a boat or RV.

Guide Review - Freedom Grill FG-100

One of the problems of serious tailgating is getting your full sized grill to the game. The Freedom Grill FG-100 is a large, portable gas grill that mounts on a standard 2-inch receiver hitch. It is equipped with a locking swing arm that allows the grill to be pulled away from the hitch to pretty much any place you need it. With a leveling kickstand you can make sure the grill is level and stable so you really can get serious with your grilling. The pass through collar hitch attachment lets you put an extended ball mount on the hitch so you can still tow any trailer or boat while the grill tucks right up to the back of your vehicle and locks in place. The lock is a real lock so all those envious tailgaters nearby can't wander off with your grill while you are watching the game. The quick and easy set up of this grill lets you get grilling moments after you park.

The grill itself is a high quality stainless steel unit that pumps out 30,000 BTUs from a stainless steel dual control burner. This lets you do indirect grilling as well as dual fire cooking (hot on one side, warm on the other).

Accessories include a with a backyard stand so you can take the grill from your truck to your patio and use it as a standard freestanding grill. You can also get a battery powered rotisserie kit for this grill so you can do rotisserie chicken in the parking lot.

If you are looking for something a little less expensive take a look at the Freedom Grill FG-50.
