Guide Review - Beefeater Discovery Plus 3-Burner Gas Grill
The Discovery Plus line of grills from Beefeater gets a double layer stainless steel hood as it's main upgrade from the Discovery line. This 3-burner unit is very small so if you need the space this isn't the grill for you. However if you want a good grill, well made and don't need great indirect grilling abilities this is a good unit to look at. The 45,000 BTUs are just about right for the size. The flame is 3 inches from the food so you get a high intense heat that is perfect for direct grilling with the lid up. The heavy porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates will hold a lot of heat and give you good searing power. The low hood isn't going to give you space for beer can chicken but there is enough room for most items you'll want to grill.
While this grill and all the units in the Discovery line are made in China under contract with Beefeater this unit is very well made and quite solid feeling. If you are interested in one of these grills they go all the way to five burners, 75,000 BTUs and 714 square inches of primary grilling space.
