DCS 30 Professional Gas Grill

DCS 30 Professional Gas Grill

DCS by Fisher & Paykel

The Bottom Line

This is like a subcompact Ferrari. The smallest of the DCS (Dynamic Cooking Systems) grills, but at 565 square inches of total grilling space it's not that small. The attention to detail and superior construction make this one of the best grills on the market. You really can't go wrong with this one and it's hard to think of anything bad to say about it other than it is is a stripped down basic model of this grill line. This unit is really designed for custom enclosures with loads of accessories and extras to make a complete outdoor kitchen.

Guide Review - DCS 30-inch Professional Grill

DCS (Dynamic Cooking Systems) makes some of the best professional cooking equipment in the world and their gas grills are no different. While this is the smallest of their grills with very little in the way of extras, it is a fantastic unit and beautiful to look at. I mean, just look at the picture.

The superior design of the W-shaped ported stainless steel burners gives maximum heat output at a relatively low BTU rating. The control valves are highly adjustable, giving you a great range of heat control. The extra thick 304-type stainless steel provides not only a beautiful finish but great heat retention and insulation.

The powerful rotisserie system on this grill can hold 50-pounds or meat without struggling. You can put pretty much anything you want on this spit as long as it isn't wider than about 28 inches.

This grill is available in propane and natural gas and usually sold head only. This means that you don't get the cart to hold it up. But at a few thousand dollars you might as well go all the way and have it put into a custom enclosure.

I struggled justifying spending almost $3K when bought this BBQ in 2000. Here a 13 year report: Boy glad I did - Excellent! Just kept it clean. I break it down once a year (usually Winter or early Spring) and throughly clean the burners, inside and out, gill tops etc. try to make it look and perform as new. I had two problems over the 13 years and the company (was DCs and now Fisher Paykel) has stood by it and their commitment: Lifetime Warranty on all Stainles parts. How many other companies give you that? You're lucky to get 1 year warranty. In year 1, one burner grill started to rust, they sent me a new upgraded set of heavy grade U channel SS grills for N/C. Now a Smoker tray broke down and they seemed to almost glady replace it too for no cost. Did I say it's 13 years old?! For $3k, I want to be able to pass this down to my son so it better last and it is. Lots of pride in the ownership of a premium product. Would I buy DCS / Fisher/Paykel again; what do you think?
