Turbo Classic 3-Burner Gas Grill

Turbo Classic 3-Burner Gas Grill

Barbeque's Galore Inc.

The Bottom Line

Barbeques Galore imports its own line of grills. This one, the classic unit hasn't changed much in years. This is a grill designed for cooking and has no features other than the main grill. While it has a good warranty and heavy components the reliance on porcelain coatings forces you to take extra care of the grill. While not a bad grill it doesn't take advantage of more modern design or components. This is a good grill but at about $640 there are other grills out there you can buy.

Pros

  • Heavy porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates
  • Individual ignitors on each burner
  • Double walled stainless steel hood
  • Porcelain coated cast iron burners

Cons

  • Porcelain coatings can chip and expose metal to rust
  • Limited features
  • Not terribly attractive with its outdated design

Guide Review - Turbo Classic 3-Burner Gas Grill

Barbeques Galore is the worlds first franchised grill store. They are a big company who imports grills primary made in China for the Australian and American market. It is an Australian company. The Turbo Classic line is towards the bottom of their grill lines. This grill comes in natural gas and propane, on cart or as an insert. Barbeques Galore has a good reputation for service and support and is in the business for the long haul (they have over 150 stores). I have never heard anything bad about their support.

This grill has three porcelain coated cast iron burners producing 45,000 BTUs under a primary cooking area of 494 square inches. While this is a little light this grill does produce good, even heat, though you might want to give it an extra minute or two to heat up. The porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates will require you to take good care not to chip them but are a great cooking surface. If you're interested I'm told you can change out the grates and burners for stainless steel.

As a grill that can cook this is a good one. While it might be a basic grill with a somewhat primitive design it works well, is built to last and can put out the heat. If you have access to this grill it is certainly a unit you should look at.
