Perfect Flame Split-Lid Gas Grill Model #E3520-LPG

LF, LLC.

The Bottom Line

This is a dual head (or two lid) gas grill. One compartment is a standard, three burner gas grill that gives you 39,750 BTUs under 430 square inches of cooking area. The other side is a single 16,000 BTU infrared burner under 220 square inches. You get an independent infrared searing grill and a standard gas grill. I have said in the past that I like this combination. Unfortunately on this grill it isn't well executed. The weak construction, many plastic parts and poor quality stainless make this an unreliable grill that simply isn't built to last. At around $600USD this is a lightweight, but impressive looking grill.

Pros

  • Dual head grill, one standard, one infrared
  • Full feature grill with rotisserie burner, side burner and infrared

Cons

  • Complete 430 stainless construction including burners
  • Dual head is an either or proposition
  • Many plastic parts
  • Thin stainless steel construction with light weight parts
  • Rotisserie kit is optional

Guide Review - Perfect Flame Split-Lid Gas Grill (Model #E3520-LPG)

This model has been discontinued. It is replaced by the Master Forge Split Lid Gas Grill (Model #E3518-LPG).

This is an impressive looking gas grill that simply fails to deliver the function, quality and durability. The Perfect Flame Split Lid gas grill was built exclusively for Lowe's Home Improvement Stores by BBQTek (formerly Pyromagic) last year but is produced by Sagittarius Sporting Goods. What you get is basically two grill for the price of one. If you think about each grill separately you can then decide if they are individually worth the money collectively.

One grill is a standard three burner, 39,750 BTU gas grill with a 10,000 BTU rear mounted infrared rotisserie burner (rotisserie kit is optional and extra). The 420 square inches of primary cooking space makes this a pretty standard powered and sized gas grill.

The other grill is a single burner, 16,000 BTU infrared gas grill. The 220 square inches makes it very small, but since you would use this as a searing station you don't need a lot of space. However, at only 12 inches wide it is a very narrow space to work with.

The complete package also comes with a normal, 13,000 BTU side burner. A very standard feature. You will have to add in a cover and propane tank to the package to get home with a complete set up.

The biggest problem I have with this grill is, again, that the construction is weak. If you take hold of the plastic handle over the infrared grill part, lift it half way up and then twist it you will find that you can bend it pretty easily. The entire grill is built like this, lightweight. Add to that the fact that all the stainless steel parts are 430 grade (poor quality) stainless. This means limited durability and that the grill can be easily damaged. All the handles and knobs are cheap plastic and the internal components are as cheap as you can buy.
