Char-Broil 5-Burner 65,200 BTU Gas Grill

Char-Broil 5-Burner 65,200 BTU Gas Grill

Char-Broil LLC.

The Bottom Line

This is one gas grill with everything to make it look great; Brass burners, stainless steel construction, five-burner design, high BTU output, and a multifunction side burner unit. Unfortunately is is far more appearance than substance. This Char-Broil gas grill uses low quality stainless steel, instead of cast brass burners it has brass tube burners and the overall construction is weak. Like many Char-Broil grills it looks good on the showroom floor, but won't last.

Pros

  • High heat output for the size
  • Complete stainless steel construction
  • Brass burners

Cons

  • Low quality stainless steel
  • Thin metal brass burners

Description

  • Five 13,000 BTU brass tube burners
  • 640 square inches of primary cooking area for a total of 860 square inches of grilling space
  • 65,200 BTU maximum output from the main burners
  • 13,000 BTU multi-function side burner with griddle attachment included
  • 400 series stainless steel construction
  • Porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates
  • Electronic ignition
  • Porcelain coated barrier

Guide Review - Char-Broil 62,500 BTU 5-Burner Gas Grill Model #463268207

This model has been discontinued. The nearest replacement is the Char-Broil Commercial with Rotisserie (Model #47362324818)

This is a grill that will definitely sell well and that's a shame. The low quality of its construction and materials are hidden behind an attractive design and great features. When looking for a gas grill many people look for things like brass burners, porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates, stainless steel construction and high BTU output. This grill has all those. Unfortunately it has all that at a price (around $500USD) that doesn't justify its supposed quality. The brass burners are not cast brass, but brass tubular burners. Not as durable as stainless steel tubular burners. The porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates have a cheap porcelain paint not a heavy enamel coating. The high BTU output isn't distributed effectively by the small metal barrier.

While this grill does have some good warranty features the warranty doesn't do much for the overall construction. Burners will be replaced if they fail, but if the grill looses its appearance or the cart fails you'll be out of luck. My suggestion is to avoid this grill.

Outstanding performance, great price., Member cupcub

Bought this at Lowe's about 5 years ago for $299. The features this has will go toe to toe with any top of the line grill. Yes, in order to keep the price down they ended up up cutting a few corners. The stainless is pretty thin, and the construction quality is mediocre. But it is a gorgeous grill that functions at a very high level. The 'ooooo' factor when you pull the cover off in front of your friends and neighbors is quite high, and the cooking quality is first rate. My recommendation. Buy this grill, then buy a good cover and some stainless cleaner. Treat this grill well and it'll be the jewel of your backyard for many years.
