The Bottom Line

If you want a smaller, dependable grill then this is a good one. If you need more cooking space then you probably need a different grill. With two burners you don't get a lot of versatility when it comes to indirect grilling and the 350 square inches of primary grilling space make it one of the smaller full sized grills. Since this grill also has no extras you will get a grill and nothing more, though a rotisserie kit is available. While limited in size and function this grill is perfect for a small space and the person who really just needs to be able to grill up some chops or chicken pieces.

Pros

  • Solid construction with good quality materials
  • Reliable even heating
  • Built to last

Cons

  • Small two burner grill
  • Comes with no extras - this is a very simple grill
  • Lower quality stainless steel side tables and front panel

Description

  • Two 13,000 BTU Stainless Steel tubular burners
  • 350 square inches of primary cooking area with 458 square inches of total cooking area
  • 26,000 BTUs from the main burners
  • Porcelain enameled steel, stainless steel and cast aluminum construction
  • Crossover piezoelectric ignition
  • Porcelain enameled flavorizer bars (grill barrier)
  • Porcelain coated welded steel cooking grates
  • Hood mounted thermometer
  • Cover and propane tank sold separately
  • Built in China by Weber-Stephen Products Company

Guide Review - Weber Spirit E-210 Black - Discontinued

This model has been discontinued. It is replaced by the new Weber Spirit E-210.

In the early days (the 1980's) of the Weber gas grill the spirit line was their smallest and least expensive grill. With the 2007 model year, Weber as restored this line and now redesigned for 2009. The new spirit is made in China so that Weber could control the price though this little grill lists for $500USD (though you can find it for as low as $350USD).

The Weber Spirit E-210 has two 13,000 BTU stainless steel burners under two porcelain coated steel cooking grates. The grease management system of this grill reduces flare-ups and the firebox design gives you a very even heat (though they it tends to be a little hotter on the left side). Ignition is from a push button, piezoelectric igniter which shouldn't clog anytime soon.

Largely constructed from porcelain coated steel this grill does have stainless steel side tables, though not made of the best quality stainless. The internal components are all of the best quality and built to last.

Weber ranks amongst the best grills on the market and you pay for that quality and the 24/7 support. This is a basic grill that won't give you a lot of versatility but it will give you dependable performance for many years to come and with a good warranty you'll be able to keep it fixed up and working like new long than most grill last.

Sheetmetal vs Cast Iron grilling surface, Member Bob1199

I purchased the Spirit E-210 at Home Depot and it came WITH the CAST IRON grilling surfaces inside. Heavy heavy duty cast iron. I was walking thru Walmart the next day and saw the same Weber for $1.00 less. Everything was the same EXCEPT for the grilling surfaces that were made of some thin porcelain coated sheetmetal. Whew, glad I didn't fall for that Walmart guaranteed lowest price deal.
