The Bottom Line

What this grill has going for it is its price. Typically selling at Wal-Mart for around $130 this is a bottom of the line two burner gas grill with a side burner. What you get is a grill that will typically last for 2 to 3 years. All in all not a bad investment, but what you won't get is a grill with a lot of power, even cooking, or a good grilling experience. Of course as a basic burger burner this isn't a complete loss.

Guide Review - Uniflame 3-Burner 40,000 BTU Gas Grill Model# GBC1128W

This model has been discontinued.

This grill is labeled as a 40,000 BTU gas grill. Blue Rhino and Wal-Mart have included the 10,000 BTUs from the side burner in the total output. This isn't standard practice (though I am seeing more and more these days). If Walmart was being honest, this grill would be labeled as a 30,000 BTU gas grill.

This is a very lightweight low quality gas grill with a competitive price. The low grade stainless steel burners will last about 2 to 3 years depending on where you live. Many people will say that this is a good investment, that you can't and shouldn't expect more from a gas grill that sells for such a low price (typically on sale for about $130USD). If this is all you can afford then this grill, or most similarly priced grills will do. I would suggest that if you don't need the side burner (and most people don't) then I would find a grill that doesn't have one and save yourself about $20USD.

Faulty Handle, Member gdonato51

I love my grill, but when it gets hot the metal/plastic handle is TOO hot to touch. It is very dangerous. I burnt myself several times. We had company & forgot to tell them to use a potholder. Also, the handle is curved & does not make a tight connection to the metal lid. I am presently trying to tie hot pads to the handles, but it doesn't stay (& I'm afraid the tie might burn off).
