KitchenAid 3-Burner Gas Grill Model# 720-0787D

Don't buy this grill for the brand name

KitchenAid 3-Burner
Home Depot

The KitchenAid Three Burner grill is a classic gas grill with specifications similar to many of the better grills in this price range. It's a middle of the road product that has a lot to offer for beginning grillers but lacks the sturdiness and features that more advanced grillers are likely to want. Don't be fooled by the high-end KitchenAid name: KitchenAid didn't design, manufacture this grill and doesn't support it.

In-Depth Review of KitchenAid 3-Burner Gas Grill Model 720-0787D

This grill is made by a company called Nexgrill Industries who have licensed the use of the KitchenAid name for use on a number of their grills available at several retailers. KitchenAid plays no role in this grill, and anyone buying it for the name stamped on the front is being deceived. This practice could be seen as deceptive and a violation of truth in advertising, as KitchenAid is a high-end brand known for the quality of its products.

Aside from that, this KitchenAid Three-Burner isn't necessarily a bad grill. In fact, it has a lot to offer the casual griller who is looking for a lighter-weight, smaller grill for general use.

Burners

The 30-inch burners are 304 stainless steel with four 12,000 BTU burners. The 36-inch grills have four 10,000 BTU burners. Both the burners and the grills are covered by a 10-year warranty, though some other parts of the grill have shorter warrantees—meaning you may have some issues using the warranty. It's good to know, though, that 304 stainless steel is the most common form of steel in the world and is used for a wide range of products. It's durable and rust-resistant, which means the burners will hold up well over time. he

The design is good and it even comes with a side burner for those who will use it. The grill does come with a rear rotisserie burner (rotisserie kit sold separately). The overall construction is lightweight and the stainless steel body parts are lower grade; it's important to note that the cooking grates are only coated with steel, which will rust if scratched.

Heat Production

The heat output is good, not fantastic, but good enough for most grilling tasks. Some users have noted uneven heat, but many are happy with the grill; it may be that adjustments are needed in some cases. The propane tank is sold separately, and if you do decide to go with gas rather than propane you will need to hire a plumber for safe installation.

There are better, more basic grills in this price range, but this product isn't a bad choice as long as it isn't being bought for the brand name on the lid.
