Bulgogi Pear Dipping Sauce

This is a delicious dipping sauce for Korean Sesame Beef (aka Bulgogi).

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sake or dry sherry
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 small pear, peeled, cored and finely chopped
  • 4 scallions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves.

You can toast sesame seeds by throwing them in a hot skillet and tossing for a couple of seconds. Quickly pour out of the pan to prevent burning.
