This grill has been discontinued. Star Manufacturing has stopped making consumer gas grill.While you might not have heard of Star, they have been making some of the best professional cooking equipment there is. They practically invented the commercial panini grill. They know what they are doing. When Star designed their outdoor grills they didn't rely on anyone else's design. They started from scratch and made a very unique grill. The 48-inch combo has everything you need to cook practically anything. The very solid construction and durable components means it will last for many years.
This grill has a large 650 square inch cooking area that includes two standard stainless steel 23,000 BTU burners and one 23,000 infrared burner for searing. This is what's going to give you the perfect steak or let you sear tuna steaks. You also get a 14,000 BTU rear mounted rotisserie burner and full rotisserie system that can hold 60 pounds of food. The rotisserie system is completely built in so all you have to do is put the spit on the grill and flip a switch. There are two 20,000 BTU cast brass side burners that are powerful enough to heat cast iron pans to searing temperatures. This insert has two side burners built in which may or may not be an advantage to you.
The big selling point of this grill however is the Star Pod. This unit sits to the side of the grill and gives you a powerful halogen light, timer, grill thermometer and probe meat thermometer. Even the worst cook will grill great on this grill. This grill sells around $3,800.
