Take Out Style Rotisserie Chicken

By Derrick Riches, About.com

Love that rotisserie chicken you get at the store? Well this is even better because you make it fresh, season it to your liking, and you get to watch it cook. Maybe I should call it "Better Than Take Out Style Rotisserie Chicken".

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole fryer chicken
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • seasoned salt to taste

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients, except the chicken of course, in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix until honey is completely melted and mixture is smooth. Clean and prepare chicken for rotisserie. Baste chicken with sauce and place on rotisserie on preheated grill. Cook for about 35 to 40 minutes at a temperature around 400 degrees F basting occasionally with sauce. When done remove from grill and wrap tightly in foil. Let sit for about 15 minutes, then carve and serve.
