Char-Broil Commercial Series 50,000 BTU Stainless Steel Gas Grill at Lowe's

Char-Broil Commercial Series 50,000 BTU Stainless Steel Gas Grill at Lowe's

W.C. Bradley Company

The Bottom Line

This is one gas grill with everything to make it look great; Brass burners, stainless steel construction, four-burner design, high BTU output, and a flush mounted side burner unit. Unfortunately is is far more appearance than substance. This Char-Broil gas grill uses low quality stainless steel, instead of cast brass burners it has brass tube burners and the overall construction is weak. Like many Char-Broil grills it looks good on the showroom floor, but won't last.

Pros

  • High heat output for the size
  • Complete stainless steel construction
  • Brass burners

Cons

  • Low quality 430 stainless steel construction

Guide Review - Char-Broil Commercial Series 50,000 BTU Gas Grill (model #463268706)

This model has been discontinued. It is replaced by the Char-Broil 4-Burner Gas Grill (model #463268107).

This is a grill that will definitely sell well and that's a shame. The low quality of its construction and materials are hidden behind an attractive design and great features. When looking for a gas grill many people look for things like brass burners, porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates, stainless steel construction and high BTU output. This grill has all those. Unfortunately it has all that at a price (around $400USD) that doesn't justify its supposed quality. The brass burners are not cast brass, but brass tubular burners. Not as durable as stainless steel tubular burners and prone to burn through (gas expands the ports over time). The porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates have a cheap porcelain paint not a heavy enamel coating. The high BTU output isn't distributed effectively by the small metal barrier. And the stainless steel is 430 steel, likely to rust and discolor over time.

While this grill does have some good warranty features the warranty doesn't do much for the overall construction. Burners will be replaced if they fail, but if the grill looses its appearance or the cart fails you'll be out of luck. What's the point of a lifetime burner warranty if the grill only lasts a few years. My suggestion is to avoid this grill.
