Char-Broil 4-Burner Convective Propane Gas Grill Model# 463211513

Char-Broil LLC.

The Bottom Line

This is a standard $200 Char-Broil gas grill. Offering 4 main burners and a simple side burner, a basic function grill, a low price, but don't plan on it lasting very long. The lightweight cooking grates, burners, and burner covers won't take a lot of punishment and will start to corrode early. If you are only interested in a grill with limited cooking performance and don't plan to keep it long then this isn't a bad investment, but I just wouldn't want anyone thinking that this is the last grill they will ever own.

Guide Review - Char-Broil 4-Burner Convective Propane Gas Grill Model# 463211513

At most of the big box stores there is a large but basic gas grill selling for around $200USD. This one at Home Depot by Char-Broil has 4 burners and a 12,000 BTU side burner. In truth there isn't much that makes it stand out. Constructed of porcelain coated steel with 430 stainless steel parts and lightweight internal components. This grill isn't built to last and will probably only serve a serious griller for a few years (3 at best).

The heat output of this grill is low considering the thin metal body construction. The main burners can pump out as much at 48,000 BTUs which is a little low for 520 square inches of lightweight porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates and a single layer sheet metal lid. The reason it has four burners isn't to give you extra versatility as much as it is to try and even out the heat and to make up for the low power.

One way to tell the lifespan of this grill is to look at the warranty (receipt required). You get 2 years on the burners and 1 year on everything else. Damage due to rust is not considered cause for a warranty claim.
