Char-Broil 2-Burner Gas Grill Model# 463631810

Char-Broil 2-Burner Gas Grill Model# 463631810

Char-Broil LLC.

The Bottom Line

Let me introduce you to the least expensive full sized gas grill on the market. While Char-Broil produces a number of gas grills like this one (sold exclusively at Walmart) this is the least expensive of them all. What you get with this is the most basic 2-burner grill you can imagine. The cooking grate is a flimsy wire rack, the burner is a thin single piece of low grade metal, the body a lightweight shell, and most everything else is plastic. This grill won't last more than a year or two, but then at around $95USD what else would you expect. All I can say is don't expect quality or good grilling.

Pros

  • Inexpensive

Cons

  • Lightweight, low quality burner
  • Cheap construction
  • Large amount of plastic
  • Limited Warranty

Description

  • One dual zone 13,250 BTU per side stainless steel "pancake" burner
  • 280 square inches of primary grilling space for a total cooking area of 410 square inches
  • 26,500 BTU maximum output from the main burners
  • Single push-button piezoelectric igniter
  • Porcelain coated steel wire cooking grates
  • Powder coated steel sheet metal body and frame with plastic side tables
  • Cover and propane tank sold separately
  • Made by Char-Broil in China exclusively for Walmart

Guide Review - Char-Broil 2-Burner Gas Grill Model# 463631810

This model has been discontinued.

This is a basic, lightweight grill that is not built to last or to be a great grill. In all honest there isn't much that you can say about this grill. If you don't have a lot of money (buy this one on sale for around $95USD) and want a grill you can cook up some burgers and hot dogs on then you might want to pick this one up. Odds are you will be dragging it out to the curb within 2 years so I wouldn't get attached to it.

From a design stand point this is something of a throw back to grills of the past. The single, dual control burner has lost its popularity. The burner on this grill will probably be the first thing to go and with a replacement price of around $26USD you will probably avoid repair and simply replace the grill in a year or two. This grill gives you a 2-burner grill that doesn't have a lot of versatility and won't last more than a couple of years, but you can always turn around and buy a new one in two years. Just try and recycle this one.

While this grill is exclusive by Walmart, similar versions can be found in most large retail stores. Home Depot has nearly the same grill for about $15USD less (see Char-Broil 2-Burner Gas Grill Model# 463621811.

There is a reason it has been discontinued., Member magnoliasouth

Despite what the Walmart website claims (it says it is no longer available), it is still being sold in stores. I know this, because I just bought one and had I not been in a dire situation, I would have taken it back the very same day. 1. It is a no lava rock grill, and the manual says the use of lava rock will void the (lame) warranty. 2. Because you can use no lava rock, this forces you to constantly use gas. This is not only costly, but is environmentally unsound and quite frankly, unsafe. The longer your gas tank is running, the greater risk you have of serious complications, which everyone knows can be very dangerous. 3. There is not enough room to place a smoker box on the burners, as in just about every other gas grill. The manual has the nerve to say on pg 6, ""Place smoke box or pan on top of the cooking grate above the flame."" The grate is the grill rack itself. This takes up so much space that there is very little room left for the food. 4. With the #1 and #3 problems, you're basically using a grill which produces food just as tasty as your oven broiler. 5. The manual for this very model, and ONLY this model, says on pg 4, ""The temperature gauge in the hood of your grill measures air temperature."" It lies. There is no gauge whatsoever. Even their drawings do not show a gauge. Why this was added to the manual, I have no clue. This is the worst thing I have ever wasted my money on, in my entire life. Lesson learned! I will never EVER buy a Charbroil grill again. Ever. Pressed for time and money, or not.
