Brinkmann Zone 3-Burner Gas Grill with Rotisserie Model# 810-2390-S

The Brinkmann Corporation

The Bottom Line

This is the gimmicky grill of 2011. The Brinkmann Zone has a standard side burner. Nice. It has a full integrated rotisserie system. Good if it works right. And a lighted cutting board. Really? Add all this to a standard 3-burner gas grill for around $330USD and you get a grill loaded with stuff except quality. This is because manufacturers like Brinkmann and stores like Home Depot believe that consumers would rather have gadgets than quality, flash instead of ability. Also, this grill is greatly underpowered.

Pros

  • Full function gas grill with integrated rotisserie system

Guide Review - Brinkmann Zone 3-Burner Gas Grill with Rotisserie Model# 810-2390-S

The Brinkmann Zone 3-Burner is loaded with features. It includes a unique integrated rotisserie system. On the back of the grill is a mounting for a battery powered (4 D batteries) and a pop up rotisserie mounting in the front. Turn the dial on the front of the grill to get the rotisserie supports in place, put food on the spit and insert it into the motor in the back and you are ready to go. You have burners on both sides of the rotisserie set up so you get even heating and a high degree of temperature control. True, the rod is short and you would be able to get a normal sized chicken on their, but not much else.

This grill also has a standard 12,000 BTU side burner on the right side table and a lit cutting board on the other side. Yes, a plastic cutting board with LED lights underneath it so you can chop in the dark. Okay, not really. The light is not very strong and since it come from beneath you really can't see what you are doing in the dark, but it looks cool. The lights are waterproof, but built into a single piece circuit board so if it fails you can't just change the light bulbs. I have to say that this is one of the most gimmicky things I've seen on a grill in a long time.

So, do these gimmicks make this a grill you want to buy? I hope not. At the basic level this is a poor quality, and underpowered 3-burner gas grill, and since most of what you will be using it for is grilling it isn't a grill you want to own. My recommendation is to avoid this grill and all its gimmicks and get something more basic.

HOW TO GET THIS THING HOT!, Member JamesHenselen

Ok, I unfortunately bought this thing and it has never reached the Searing Temperature according to the thermometer from day 1. Natural gas conversion was my guess. Today I screwed on a piece of sheet metal on the back of the lid to block the GAPING HOLE. It reached 550 DEGREES in 20 MINUTES. Try it for $5 before giving up on the heat prob.
