This brine can be used on any kind of poultry and pork. It gives a sweet, maple flavor to meats.

Total Time: 1 hour, 45 minutes

Yield: Makes about 1 gallon of brine

  • 4 quarts water
  • 2 cups dark brown sugar

Best Turkey Ever!!!, Member lilydragon

I have made my turkey with this brine two years in a row and will soon make it three. Everyone who has tried my turkey has loved it. My 12lbs turkey's always come out wonderfully when cooked in my roaster and left to soak up this brine over night. The first time I made a turkey I used this brine and lets just say it will be a staple in my house as long as I have Thanksgiving at my house.
