Basil-Mustard Veal Chops

This recipe calls for a delicious herb and mustard sauce to top off these great veal chops. Remember not to overcook your the chops.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 9 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 veal chops, about 1 inch thick
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef stock
  • olive oil

Preparation:

For sauce: In saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and shallots and cook until soft. Pour in beef stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and add in mustard, cream, basil, and salt.

Preheat grill for medium heat. Rub veal chops with olive oil and black pepper. Place chops on grill and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side. Remove chops from grill and serve with herb mustard sauce.
