Mustard Barbecue Sauce

Mustard Barbecue Sauce

Regarding BBQ Inc.
If you haven't tried a mustard based barbecue sauce then you are really missing out on something. This sauce works well with almost anything, but is particularly excellent for pork.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Yield: Makes about 2 cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup prepared yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne

Preparation:

Mix all ingredients together and simmer over a low heat for 30 minutes. If your making this sauce for a whole hog multiple the ingredients by about 8.

Great Recipe/ but tweak it a little and wow., Member KSBPDX

This stuff is great. I think the key is in the reduction and a good amount of tending/stirring. If it's not thick enough then keep it rolling on very low heat. I use dijon and I like to add a couple spoons of horse radish. It gives it a little something. The best way is to make it with the measurements that are suggested then tweak it to taste your taste but remember it's the flavor is only going to get more powerful the longer it on the stove. DON'T LET IT BOIL, just light bubbling.
