If you've been paying attention then you know the importance of resting meat after it has been cooked and before you carve. While resting, meats need to be covered to hold in heat and protect them from anything accidentally falling on top. For this reason I've been telling you to loosely cover with foil. This protects the meat but does little to hold in the heat. Well, if there is a problem there is bound to be a product. This brings us to GrillTender. This is an insulated blanket with draw strings that fit over most standard sized platters of casserole dishes so you can cover foods and keep them warm while you are getting other dishes ready to serve. Since this is a cotton cloth covering you will still need to cover with foil so, but if you do spill on this blanket you will be able to simply throw it in the washing machine.
The GrillTender meat resting blanket sells for around $35, so the question I'm asking you is, do you think it is worth it. Hit the comment button below and let us know what you think.

$35 !! I’ve been doing the same thing with a couple of dish towels. Does the same thing.
These look nice, but both Pyrex and Anchor Hocking have insulated carriers for casserole dishes that have microwaveable heat packs to keep things warm, and they’re useful for other foods, as well.
We have a “grilltender” and have found it fabulous for keeping things warm and they are attractive enough to take to the table where compliments abound. It will keep the food hot and allow it to continue cooking and still be hot when it is ready to cut and serve. We use ours for casseroles, vegetables and whatever we want to keep hot off the stove. $35 is a great price for such a versatile and lovely compliment to any meal.
I recently got a grilltender and I really like it. Made a beer can chicken the other night. Put the finished chicken in a casserole dish and covered it (and some roasted potatoes) with the grilltender for an hour while i watched a hockey game. Then i came back and served the chicken and potatoes during an intermission. The chicken and potatoes were much hotter and moister than if I had just used foil and/or a towel. This is a product that i will get a lot of use out of in the future. Definitely worth the price!
I love my Grilltender. I use it every time I grill and I don’t have to mess around with towels or foil or anything like that. Take the meat off right before its ideal temp, let it rest under the Grilltender, and it’s perfect every time. It’s made me a better griller. Worth the price.
We used to use dishtowels over grilled meats and have found that this Grilltender product does a much superior job in keeping meals hot and moist. In addition, our friends have been very impressed with the design and quality of the Grilltender meat resting blanket. Recommended highly!
I use my grilltender every week! Whenever I pull a pan out of the oven or meat off the grill, I cover the foil with my resting blanket. It keeps the food piping hot until I can get the rest of the meal, and my family, to the table! It’s great for cooking up a bunch of chicken breasts, letting them rest, and then chopping up the juicy, perfect meat for soups and casseroles later. It’s the best!
I was skeptical too. I got one as a gift and we did a side by side test. The Blanket won hands down. Anyone who grills will love this blanket and use the dish towel for what it was meant for. The dishes!
How many of the commenters on this article work for GrillTenders? What a bunch of poorly disguised shills. $35 for a bag/towel thing? Give me a break. Go buy some extra meat with that money.
