One of the best ways to make a better Turkey is with a good Brine. Brining Turkey is a process of adding moisture and flavor to meat by use of a salt-water mixture. There are many ways to make a great brine and these turkey brine recipes are amongst the best I know. So, whether you are roasting, grilling, smoking, or frying your next turkey, start out with a good brine and make it so much better.

I brined our turkey then smoked it for last year’s Thanksgiving. I was VERY worried about ruining the “main” part of thanksgiving! But it turned out FANTASTIC! We are planning on brining and smoking TWO this year on our new Chargrill smoker.

I agree with Christopher– brining for the first time can be very frightening– what if it turns out awful?? Answer: It wont!!! Im a lifelong convert, and cant believe that we hadn’t been brining all along– turkey turns out moist and so flavorful– don’t be scared– give it a shot and I promise you’ll never think of putting an un-brined turkey in your oven again!

I tried brining a chicken first. A small whole fryer in much cheaper and wont break the bank if you dont like it. I am trying it for my turkey this week. The Chicken was so moist and flavorful. Cant wait to try the turkey
