Back from Chicago
Thursday November 6, 2008
I just got back from a quick trip to Chicago to check out all the new products from Weber. Thanks to Ernie Boys and Sherry Bale for taking time out of their day to show me all the new products that Weber will be coming out with in the next few months (some are hitting stores now). I will get to telling you more about these new products, including an electric Q, a 26" kettle, and of course the 22.5" Weber Smokey Mountain, over the next several days. I did want to tell you about my lunch at the Weber Grill Restaurant. This is a Weber themed (and owned) restaurant where the food is cooked on custom Weber Ranch Kettle grills and the whole place is decorated with Weber memorabilia. If you are a big time "grillhead" you would love this place and all the old pictures and weber kettles used as lights and planters. Being that I was dining with bigwigs from the company I was able to sample a wide range of the menu and I have to say that everything was excellent. I tried pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and their BBQ meatloaf and would have to say that they ranked up there with the better BBQ joints. Impressive if you consider how popular this place is and the kind of business it does. If you get to Chicago or Indianapolis where the four Weber Restaurants are located I suggest you drop in. It's a little pricey, but definitely comparable to the upper scale BBQ joints that have been popping up all over these days.
