Broil-King Update

Thursday August 7, 2008
A few months ago I told you about a Broil King Recall. This recall was posted after Consumer Reports reported that the body of several models of Broil King Gas Grills had melted during testing. A fix was issued for these grills and now Consumer Reports has updated their story after testing the "fix" issued by Broil King. The verdict isn't completely positive. Two grills (Broil King Signet 90 986784LP) purchased after the recall performed normally, however a model purchased before the recall had problems. The firebox of this model deformed under high heat implying that some Broil King owners way still have problems with their grills. Read Consumer Reports Story for more information.

I have been trying to get Broil King to send me the retro fit kit for a month now. I’ve emailed twice, called twice and they always tell me it is on the way. I have the Signet 20 which is a great grill and they told me to go ahead and use it despite what their web site advises. Is anyone else having this problem?
