Quick Tip: Strike-A-Fire

Tuesday July 1, 2008
Over the years I have used a lot of fire starters. When it comes to lighting charcoal you want something that will light easily and burn for a good 10 minutes or so. These lighter sticks from Diamond are great and I use them all the time. They light like a match and burn for at least 12 minutes (the box says 12 minutes, but I think they burn longer). All you have to do is strike one. Let it burn for a few second and push it down into your charcoal. Works great.

Personally I would not use these, what makes them light, and stay burning!?

I use fatwood split down to matchstick size to light my charcoal ( it is just tree stump wood, no additives )!
