If you have paid any attention to competition barbecue in the last decade they you have probably hear the name Chris Marks. This 8 time Grand Champion of the American Royal is now teamed up his Three Little Pigs competition team with Ace of Hearts BBQ, and Goodwin Enterprises award winning smoker The Good One. Well, thanks to Rob Russell I got my own Good One, the smallest version called The Open Range. I plan on cooking up a lot of barbecue in the next few weeks on this unit, but I can tell you a few things:

• This smoker/grill is very solidly built from heavy steel but all the parts fit together perfectly
• There is very little "leakage" around the lids and doors
• Airflow control from the three "spinner" vents is amazingly precise
• The finish on the steel is very good
• Clean up is very easy
• There is a great deal of "attention to detail" in this smoker

I will add a review of this unit to my smoker reviews here very soon. Fortunately I get to meet with the makers of this smoker in a few weeks at the HPBA Expo in Atlanta.
