Clean BBQ Grill Liners

A little while back I got a couple of Clean BBQ's grill liners from Amanda Gilmore to try out. These 3 mill aluminum foil grill sheets are supposed to keep your cooking grate clean, while still letting you grill effectively. After cooking up a couple of things (turkey breasts and burgers) I found that they do exactly what they say. You will need to oil these liners before you cook or foods will stick. Sticking would be very bad because the lightweight liner will lift right off with the food. Fortunately these are nice and clean out of the package and it's all the dirty stuff on your grill that is causing most of the sticking anyway.
Clean BBQ sheets are available at places like Home Depot and Wal-Mart or online. They will cost you a little under a dollar a piece (or nearly a buck a cookout). They do work effectively and will keep your grill grate clean. They also fit most grills and can be cut to fit smaller units. They will not keep the insides of your grill clean and should be see as a substitute for actually cleaning your grill once in a while. I would certainly recommend these if you are grilling something particularly messy (like saucing up some barbecue chicken). The website does warn that excessively fatty foods may cause flare-ups and that the Clean BBQ liners may exacerbate this situation.
