Foul weather portable grill?
"I am looking for a new portable grill for tailgating. I live in Cleveland OH, and about half of out home Browns football games take place during cold weather. We park on the shores of Lake Erie, and routinely have to deal with strong winds and subfreezing temperatures. I am looking for suggestions on a portable grill that is can stand up to less than optimal conditions. I liked the Holland Companion, but several reviews I read on-line mention long heat-up and cooking times, especially in windy conditions. The Parker Grill sounds good, but at $400, I want to explore some other options first. I have not used an infra-red grill before. I was thinking about the Napoleon Prestige II Freestyle Portable Infra-red Grill. It advertises a wind resistant design, but I have been unable to find many reviews or opinions in the particular grill.
Would an infra-red grill be more resistant to colder ambient cooking temperatures, or should I be looking for a traditional grill with higher BTU's? Any help or personal experience would be greatly appreciated." Answer
