"My brother has an awesome Jenn Air grill(outdoor) which he bought about a year ago. Problem is he has never really extensively cleaned it, and it is a mess. The grates are ceramic and I told him not to use a wire brush on them. But I am at a loss as to what cleaner there is on the market to get this thing lokking great again. Any help is appreciated."

I stuck them standing up in my self-cleaning oven and turned that baby on and cleaned the oven. The porcelain grills on my Jenn-Air came out looking brand new. All the black, crusty stuff burned off and was a fine white ash that washed off very easily.
