Help with finding a resonable SMOKER

"Ok here is the scoop! I posted last week that I purchased a stand up red Brinkmann Electric Smoker! I think everyone said it does not get hot enough and was not a good purchase! I called and I can take it back which is a good thing! BUT I AM STILL IN NEED OF A SMOKER :)

Sounds as though most of you are die hards! NO OFFENSE! I am a newbie and like to learn and love the taste of smoked food! Any suggestions on a lower end model smoker? I originally purchased the Chairbroil stand up electric and I was not happen with that one either! UGH! :)

In your response let me throw in should I go with something other than electric? I thought the easy clean up would be a good thing however like I said I am a newbie! Should I go charcoal?"
