Brinkman Grills, what do you think?
"We are looking at one for work because it has a large cooking area. The model we are looking at has 6 burners, 80,000 BTU and is stainless steel. I'm worried because I can't find any information about them on the web. Are they out of business or something? Anyone know anything about the quality of these? Please respond ASAP if you do as I have to make a purchase very soon."

Funny.. I finally found someone in the same boat!.. I saw one at Cabelas.. was impressed.. but can’t find it on the web either?
The website for Brinkmann is http://www.brinkmann.net however that exact grill isn’t listed on their website. I’ve been looking at them too at Academy Sports and Wal-Mart also has the four burner one. Worried about being able to get parts if needed?
Looks nice but junk. Mine is two years old and the interior is completley rusted out. Ordered replacement smoker box back in July. They charged the card and I am still waiting for the part. Takes at least a 1/2 hour on hold to get a human from customer service. Email support unresponsive. My old sunbeam held up much better.
My husband andI bought a brinkman grill less than a year ago and it caught on fire and melted all the knobs and lines on it. It was barely used any not even 10 times!! Don’t buy one! Angie D. Hazard, KY
THIS GRILL COULD KILL YOU!!!!
I realize that is a pretty outragious statement, but please read what actually happened.
First of all after only using the roteissere 5 times on chickens the screen area has nearly completely dis-sentegrated. That didn’t really upset me but this did.
We had a large party and grilled hamburger for chilli, the night before the party.
The next night we grilled T-Bones.
When cutting my steak, I hit a couple of hard items. I turned the steak over and found several “PIECES OF PROCELAIN ATTACHED TO MY STEAK”. Some pieces were 2″ long, very sharp and about the size in diameter of and extension cord wire.
In absolute panic we sorted through the chilli and found over a dozen pieces of porcelain attached to various pieces of the hamburger. Had anyone swallowed the chilli (soup) their stomach or intestines could have been pierced by sharp pieces of metal.
After examining my grill I find that large pieces of sharp porcelain have peeled away from the wire grate.
I am waiting for a reply back from Brinkman.
I FEEL THE WHOLE LINE OF GRILLS WITH PORCELAIN COVERING SHOULD BE RECALLED AS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATHENING SITUATION EXIST.
This particular grill I paid
$500.00 for at Menards.
Don in Iowa
Thanks for the comments, I was about to purchase one of these grills, I have now changed my mind. I will stick with a Weber or Charbroil.
We purchased a brinkman 4400 at Wal-Mart back in 3/06. Figured at the $300.oo price it should be a good grill. Used it once and I thought that for being a four burner it should have put out a lot of heat. It took forever to cook at that picnic. I sent a letter to the company for a replacement regulator..(It took almost three months of calling to get them on the phone) I got a replacement regulator almost a year later. It was winter when I got it, so it was a couple of months later before I hooked up the new regulator…it is 6/07 and the grill is worse then it was with the first part. After three times using the grill I am ready to just turn it into a planter out in the garden..I would never recommend the grill to anyone. You can’t get with customer service. The phone is always busy. I was out searching for parts when I saw this site..I had to add a warning to others….DON’T BUY ONE !!!!
Bought One 2 Years ago at Lowes. It looks great but internal parts rusted away even though it was covered from all weather. Replacement parts are more expensive than the Grill was to buy when new.
THANKS FOR ALL THIS INF WAS GOING TO BUY ONE BUT WILL NOT NOW AFTER READING WHAT THERE LIKE AND MADE OF……THANKS AGAIN FOR LEAVING YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT BRICKMANN GRILLS…….OKLAHOMA
I bought a Brinkman grill for my husband for his 40th Birthday party, after one year all the burners went bad these grill are really bad!!!
These are made in china by Nexgril. BIG grills and lots of features, but they are junk. My buddy just retired one after only 3 yrs! It completely fell apart! He is going WEBER!!
BBQ Grillware metal fire. At a rental cabin we were burning off grease on a BBQ Grillware grill. The frame of the grill caught fire and burned like magnesium. After a lot of water we were able to cool it off enough to kill the fire. The metal frame did not melt IT BURNED.
Thanks for all the helpful comments on Brinkman. My husband & I were going to buy one but that’s not going to happen. Thanks again to everyone.
My grill caught on fire tonight. The knobs melted off and metal melted onto the deck causing a fire. I have had the grill for about a year and a half. Just like the other people who responded the grill was in bad shape after only a few uses. This grill is a fire hazard.
If the grill you own causes a fire that you believe is a design or construction flaw you need to report it. Please look at When your Gas Grill goes bad. Pete (and others) please report these incidents to the Consumer Product Safety Commission
This company also makes “CHARMGLOW” grills found at Home Depot. I was considering purchasing one until I read the multitude of complaints on the web. Keep up the good work of keeping others posted about problems!
Thank you for posting all of this I was about to buy one at Home Depot tonight. I will go with another brand, thank so much this website saved me from a 150.00 down the drain.
I wish I would have read these before we purchased one. Our Weber lasted 10 years, and I wanted to find a cheap one in the meantime, so we went to Lowes/Home depot and finally settled on this Brinkman. It’s still in the box as we just purchased it yesterday.
Guess I’ll be going back to Walmart.
Not to state the same thing but mine also rusted out (every inside part) in 2 years and I take care of my stuff. Real piece of junk, but yea it does look nice and worked well for a year. After looking at parts and realizing I’ll probably miss the whole grilling season waiting for them and have to replace them again later, I am sucking it up and buying a product I can rely on. I’ll be sure to do my research this time!
have had a kittle grill for 5 years. keep it clean and oiled. heat plate rusted out. burner flaked apart. cannot find parts. found out they stoped making parts the same year they began sell them. talk about setting up people to replace not maintain. they are a lousey company. buyer beware!!!!!!
MY WIFE BOUGHT A 2300 SERIES BRINKMAN 2YRS. AGO.THE WHOLE THING IS RUSTY, THE BURNERS ARE ALL RUSTED OUT. THE OUTSIDE IS RUSTED.THE HEAT PLATES ARE ALL BUT GONE.THE PORCELINE POPPED OFF ONTO OUR FOOD.YOU WOULD THINK THAT FOR $400.00 IT WOULD LAST LONGER.I WAS ORDERING PARTS WHEN I SEEN THIS SIGHT.IT WOULD COST OVER $150.00 FOR 3 BURNERS AND 2 HEAT PLATES.I WILL LOOK FOR A NEW U. S MADE GRILL.
Looks like we have a common theme with Brinkman. I have had my Brinkman Pro Series 4435 for 2 years and the insides have totally rusted out!!!!!
Well, I’ve had my Brinkman 4400 just about 2 years now, and I believe the electronic igniter has gone bad. I’m having difficulty finding a replacement part. Like others, The inside is beginning to rust out–and I have a cover that I keep on the grill when not in use.
Based on other comments, I’m holding my breath to see if I can find a replacement igniter.
In market for new grill. I had considered Brinkman but now after reading all of these comments, I’m sticking with Weber. My old grill lasted 15 years.
I should have read these comments before buying one that also caught on fire. How many more of these have to go up in flames before they kill someone. It stops here.
Bought a Brinkmann 5 burner grill in March 2009 and the 2 front wheels broke off on. The sad part is our model of the grill is not even listed on their website or on the grillsonlineparts.com. Wished we had read these comments before we bought it and now we are stuck with it until it dies in 2 years.
I bought a Charm-Glo. Haven’t gone thru 2nd propane tanks yet, when gas burner rusted out. I’m a guy who never throws something out, I fix it! Went to Home Depot bought some new gas burners to replace the ones in the grill. The Chinese manufacture had spot welded the nuts in place so you can’t replace the burners. I had to throw it out. I took it back to Home Depot and dropped it off in their parking lot & told them they could take it to the dump.
My Brinkmann caught fire as well, burning the knobs and destroying the grill. Only my third summer owning. I plan to report this to the product safety commission and will demand a full refund.
I bought mine a few weeks ago…I liked the price and the big cooking area. Mine(like others) caught fire a couple hours ago. Big piece of sh*t.
I’ve owned my Brinkman 4415 approx. 3 yrs. The inside has rusted as well, but the grill actually works well. I thought the ignition went out today only to read on their website that if you pull off the ignition button you may need to replace a AA battery. I did that and it works fine. The grates are fine, side burner works great and the stainless steel still looks good. I figure the rust inside isnt visible but agree that it should not have rusted out. I have covered it every winter and we have some cold & snowy winters in Chicago, I’m sure it probably would not have rusted if I’d kept it inside. Although I do still have a Webber that is 13 yrs old and no rust (kept outside). The downfall of the Brinkman is the rust, but the grill itself works great.
I just purchased a Brinkman Charcoal Smoker today not a gas burner does this model have the same type of problems with rusting and burning as the others?
My husband and I bought a 4 burner Brinkmann Grill and four days later the heat from the grill made the grates twist. The grates no longer fit into the grill.
Me and my wife got a Brinkman as a Wedding SHower gift in July of 2006. WHile the inside has rust it did not completely go through yet. However it did cath on fire today while I was working. Luckly my young son and dog where inside the house and the grill is well away from everything. My inlaws have the same model only a few months older and thiers is also rusted through.
