Newbie needs help with cooking times

"We have decided on a small 2.4 lbs pork roast. It is about 1.5" thick. It's marinading with a dry rub overnight. The Brinkmann electric smoker booklet says to cook it for 45-60 minutes per pound. What is your experiences with times of cooking. I've always used a charcola smoker so I am unfamiliar with the electric model...all suggestions welcomed!"
