Beef Roast Anyone?
"First of all, Thanks to all the experienced and knowledgeable people on these message boards, my family and I had the best brined smoked turkey we've ever eaten for Thanksgiving.
I really am a beef person, but I know NOTHING about smoking beef. I would like to cook a roast. Does anyone have any tips for an unforgettable roast?
Things I would like information on are:
1. What kind of roast is best for smoking? (I'm really not looking to do a brisket this time)
2. What kind of wood is best for smoking a beef roast?
3. What temperatures and time frames am I constrained to?
4. Preparation Tips (injections, marinades, etc.)?
Any information is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to offer any advice or comments you want."

I had to laugh….I’m looking up the same information you are. I smoked a regular beef roast for about 5 hours now. The beef is kind of tough, but the taste is outstanding. I havn’t cut to the center yet, which I hope is fork tender like the pork roast usually is. I’ll write back the final verdict from the mother in law.
Take care,
